Vintaaaaage, darling

Following my last post about Vintage festival, I decided to share with you some of the gorgeous vintage websites I've found online, because there's a few.

Firstly, Rokit.
There's eeeeeverything on Rokit, from leather trousers to soda syphons!
My favourite category is the playsuits/jumpsuit... so many lovely vintage items.

From top to bottom, prices are £35, £50 and £60.

Next up, Love Miss Daisy: the best place to go for 50s dresses. Here are my three favourites:

The bottom dress is my favourite, but is actually Laura Ashley from the 80s!
From top to bottom, the prices are £85, £75, £69.
I've heard that they also do some pretty stunning wedding dresses, but being 15, under no circumstances have I lusted over them. *ahem*. No way.

Freudian Slips Vintage has THE MOST AMAZING hair accessory I've ever seen:
This 1930s garland is so pretty, it would be perfect for a festival.
I also love this schoolgirl-style gingham dress, £95.

Revival is the best place to go for floral dresses, my favourite being this 70s maxi:
And it's only £22!

I love the print on this 70s sundress, which is also incredibly good value at just £18! Wow!

Yessssss this one is my favourite, probably due to my immature inclination for all things pink. It's 80s and is again a cheap £30!

Well, I hope you all go out and support these fabby little websites! See you soon :)

Vintage at Goodwood

I loooove festivals... the music, the fashion, the camping, the crappy food...
Unfortunately, I'm only going to be going to one festival.
BUT it looks like it's heading to be one of the best ones of the year!
The idea being that it not only celebrates vintage music, but also art, fashion, film and design! Hence me being extremely and childishly excited.
And me being me, I feel the need to purchase a whole new wardrobe for this long-weekend event.
Sooo step in Frock Me! (No, not the show which I salivated over, the vintage fair which is held at the Corn Exchange in Brighton) and I have been busy buying mostly 50s dresses to make me look like a vintage princess on 13-15 August. (Well, that's the idea. In reality I'll be under-makeuped, under-washed and under-slept) Items include this tutu from Beyond Retro, which I totally feel like a ballerina in :D

As I'm writing this, and looking at the Vintage website I'm getting more and more excited.... as well as The Noisettes, one of my aforementioned big girl crushes (see Frocking Brilliant), PALOMA FAITH is going to perform. This literally MAKES MY LIFE.

Well that's all for now, but I'm stuck at home at the moment so expect a FLURRY of posts over the next couple of weeks!
Love you all! xxx

P.S. If you follow me, please pass on this blog to your friends etc, so my number of followers can increase slightly :)

very, very, very niiice

I know I have a mild (ok, more than mild) obsession with Fearne Cotton but I can't help it: I love her rock, vintage style. Also, I love how she's made it big without being stunningly beautiful.
Anyway, when I first heard about her clothing line on Very some time last year I was reaaally excited! And rightly so, because there are so many gorgeous things ! And it's not even too expensive. Here's some of the new collection.
A simple bag that still makes a statement, thanks to the tassels. And I love love love grey at the moment (as boring as that is!) It's £25, so buy now!

This is a gorgeous vintage-style dress, and I love the collar on this one! Unfortunately, at £59 it's just out of my price range, but it's sooo worth the slight splurge.

These jeans will REALLY not suit me: the colour's too light, and the rips and studs will highlight all the wrong parts of my legs, but I can't help loving them. So brilliantly grungey! These would look great with a fancy top, or maybe something floaty and floral to balance out the grunge. £35.

I really like brogues: I got a pair of black ones for Christmas and I wear them all the time, because they just look great with pretty much everything! White ones may not be quite as practical, but they'll look good in summer as well with lovely floaty summer dresses.

What I like the most about this unicorn t-shirt is what Very describes as 'burnt out jersey', which is one of my current fashion fetishes! £20

This beanie looks great on Fearne, and it really does suit loads of hairstyles. It's such a vibrant colour as well, so it's perfect for the transition from Winter to Spring and it's only £14!

And while we're on the subject of clothes (not sure what else I'd be talking about!) I'm going to Egypt this half term (in about 3 weeks) and it's a Muslim country, so I'll be needed a maxi dress. Hmmm not a good look for an extremely short person, and also due to the whole snow situation, not many stores have stocked up on their summer dresses! So far, my favourite is this lovely number from Miss Selfridge for £38, because of the gold embellishments at the top and bottom. However, ideally I'm looking for something a bit cheaper. So if any of you know a less mainstream shop that might have some beauties please let me know! Thanks, love you all! xxx

CSL post... finally!

OMG I have sooooo much to say about the Clothes Show so we'll start with the most exciting.....
I MET FEARNE COTTOOOOOON
ok so it wasn't exactly a long chat... but look at this picture I took of her! WOW! And she signed my ticket (picture to follow)

Second most important is all the fandabbydoodah stuff I bought....
Eclectic Eccentricity!!!! mmmmm such beautiful stuff. Here's one example, and once again I found it impossible to choose which one to show you all so HAVE A LOOK YOURSELVES :)

2) Mina UK... lovely. Bought a lace dress from there reduced by a lot... but it's all lovely and will be great for the winter sales. LOVE this little flowery cardie.

3) Darimeya Ok, I know I've blogged about the beautiful Darimeya before, a boutique I discovered at the Clothes Show last year, but they were there again this year and I now own two more lovely items by them. It's a bit pricey, but there's a sale on! This red jumper was £58, reduced in the sale to £25!

4) Old Romantic I bought a lovely necklace from here, and my sister got some earrings and a hairband but they also did some gorgeous vintage dresses. Unfortunately they don't sell clothes online, but check it out and remember the name just in case you happen to come across it at a fashion event.

6) Jumpo... now I've had a look and there doesn't seem to be a website for this shop, but they can be found on eBay, and that's where I found this picture. Click on this link to view the details on this auction.

Ok, so that's it guys! The post of all my Clothes Show finds that's now nearly two weeks late.... Sorry about that, it has been a crazy time at school recently. However, school's now out for the winter so expect a ton of posts!

lace= YUM

Such a new obsession. Love the way anything lacey feels all vintage and pretty. Not much more I can say without getting hideously overexcited like usually :)

OOOOH it has pretty little pearls on toooo how exciting :D oh right, it's from Topshop

Lace cardigan from H&M. Ok, the fact that I'm using H&M shows such dedication to my blog. As some of you will know, H&M has no English online site so I had to struggle through the German site to find this for you beautiful people. You better appreciate it.

My friend has just bought this looooovely jumper from Topshop. I'm rather jealous.

Okay, AMAZING dress from Rokit. 'nuff said.

I saw these shoes in Grazia and now I feel like my life won't be complete again until I own these. Just look at them!

Well you can't really see the lace part in this picture but each little ruffle of the skirt has a delicate lace trim. As this is vintage I'm presuming it was supposed to be worn under clothes, but what's the point of owning something this pretty and no one seeing?!?!

Ok I'm off to spend all my money saved for the Clothes Show, bye xxx
