Maxi fever

Maybe it's because I'm having some serious thigh issues at the moment (or should that be serious cupcake issues? It's close to an addiction.), or the wide range of designs available, but I feel like it's time for me to buy a great summer maxi.

I can't see any disadvantage: they look effortlessly cool even without accessories, there's NO issues with flashing, and they flatter everyone!

Here are some of my favourite looks on celebrities:

I do love a bit of tie-dye, and these maxi dress looks cool and summery, and suits Lauren and Vanessa's petite frames. Simple, wavy hair and a pendant necklace emphasize the simplicity of the look.

Hayden Panettiere proves that maxi dresses can suit short girls! Plain gladiators make for a casual, relaxed outfit.

The paisley print and long sleeves make for a 70s style hippy dress, with a waist tie to add definition.

However us normal people can also get a piece of the action, for a fraction of the price:
I love the Hawaiian-style print on this dress from Topshop for a very reasonable £30!

This is a sleek, pretty design: I love the lace detail around the neckline. From Oasis at Asos, £50.

Another Oasis creation, with a 70s look similar to Nicole Richie's style. I love the bluey-purple colour scheme, so I will definitely be picking this up the second I have £80 to spare :o

Peace out!

DON'T JUDGE ME!

Due to a series of unfortunate events, this Sunday my friends and I went to see 'The Last Song'. I could go into it now as I'm still pretty mad at Odeon, but I'm sure it would be so utterly boring that halfway through the first sentence you would all exit this page and never return.
During the film, instead of listening to the dialogue and getting caught up in the story, as usual I spent most of the film thinking about Miley Cyrus's various outfits. And I approved.

So as I am a gift sent from God for you, I've been searching online for some items to help you get Miley's look.
Urban Outfitters, now £7.99
Topshop, £35

spree vs steal

Oh, I do love a good spree vs steal article: the idea of getting something designer, or more expensive, for a lot less money. What's not to love?
1) I've had my eye on this Wildfox t-shirt for aaaaages now, I love the simple motif and style.

But now, I've found this cheaper alternative, and I think I may prefer the perfume bottle feature, and it has padded shoulders! But most importantly, while the Wildfox version is £60, this one from Yogo Ego is only £15!

2) The classic Chanel quilt bag, iconic, luxurious, instantly recognisable, and.... expensive! But this AWear bag is such a great alternative for those of us unable to afford the original, and I love the contrasting colours. And it's only £8! I'm certainly putting an order in.

3) Oh, Luella, Luella Luella. Everyone remembers the beautiful floral designs of Spring/Summer 09, and now you can get your hands on one... well not exactly, but this Oasis dress is a pretty good alternative, especially as it looks like it'll be a lot more flattering and wearable than the original. The Oasis dress is only £25 in the sale, but grab it quickly because I don't think it'll be around for too long.

4) Oh, I do love this nail varnish colour. The problem is, it costs around £50 to get hold of. BUT you can get the EXACT SAME COLOUR from Barry M for £2.95. And I should know, I got it for Christmas. Now, you need a couple of coats as it's quite light, but the end result is very Chanel.
5) I love this duck ring from Topshop... but no way do I want to spend £16 on it! That's why this Temporary:Secretary one is perfect! And it's only £5 as well! Perfect!

6) I really like the idea of a 'love' pendant, and this Swarovski silver one is perfect.. if you have £78 to spend. If not, try this Topshop alternative, with swallow details.

We're off to see the wizard....

WOWIE look at the loveliness of Temporary:Secretary I have to say I probably have a weak spot for the Wizard of Oz; those beautiful ruby red slippers and the wonderfulness of Wicked.

My favourite is the Dorothy one, look at those cute little shoes :)
So today I went shopping. Well, when I say shopping I mean trying on clothes and lusting after them while trying to keep the Clothes Show in my head and today I was completely successful! I've taken some pictures of my favourite items on the Brighton high street :D

Ok, probably not helping with my lace obsession. This skirt is my new favourite item. It's from H&M and also has a slight tutu feel. Also the top is tres pretty, it's actually a dress but I thought this looked rather smashing as a combination.

Mmmmmm I'm not going to rest until I've bought a jumper dress and this one is soooo nice and I love the animal style. Here are the cons: this sizing is slightly wrong but that can be easily fixed, and it costs £48! :o I'm hoping there'll still be some left in time for the post-Christmas sales... And another thing, it is THE softest thing IN THE WORLD.

I am so happy to blog about this jumper because I now own it! Well, officially it's not mine until my birthday but that's really not very far away... £50 from Oasis but it was worth it. Ahhh it has angora wool and cashmere and it's SO PRETTY :D. For the record, I NEVER plan to layer it with that dress but it was the end of a long, long day and you get the idea :) I realise that the picture is AWFUL and so grainy, so I'm going to tell you that the red lips have sequins on as well. Oh it's perfect!

alsooooo I thought I'd blog about my lovely friend Daniella with the beautiful pink crochet jumper (see previous post). She's wearing a gorgeous little necklace from H&M and a plain scarf from Primark, as well as the Topshop jumper.

Oh yeah and my new gloves arrived and I am quite pleased with them. I have to say they look awful with this outfit but I think they'll look great with my coat.

Argh, Strictly's started now. Speak again soooooon. :) xxx
